Hōtō, a Yamanashi staple
Hōtō is a Yamanashi dish of broad, flat wheat noodles simmered with vegetables in a miso-based broth. It developed as a substantial local meal in mountain areas where rice was difficult to grow.
Houtou Fudou focuses on this regional dish and makes its own noodles. The North Kawaguchi-ko Head Store is on the north side of Lake Kawaguchiko, about 10 minutes by taxi from Kawaguchiko Station according to the restaurant.
